Capture Flowfield Studio views for presentations, reports, and validation-planning packages.
What you will learn
How to export current-view PNGs, full-domain PNGs, steady diagnostic CSVs, transient frame sequences, and MP4 video when ffmpeg is available.
Prerequisites
A valid Flowfield Studio result. Transient frame sequence and MP4 export require saved transient frames.
Steps
Open Flowfield Studio and generate the view you want to export. Use Presentation for a clean capture layout when preparing screenshots.
For a quick PNG, click Screenshot in the viewer toolbar. The save dialog is titled Export Current Flowfield View as PNG.
For more export types, click the viewer toolbar Export button. Choose Save Screenshot..., Full-Domain PNG..., Export Field CSV..., Export Probe CSV..., Export Residual CSV..., Export Profile CSV..., Export Mesh CSV..., or Export Wall CSV....
For transient exports, run a transient solve with saved frames. Use the playback strip Export button and choose Current View PNG, Frame Image Sequence..., or MP4 Video....
In Export Transient Frame Sequence, select Scalar, First frame, Last frame, Stride, Width, Height, FPS metadata, Fixed color scale over exported frames, and Full domain. Click Choose Folder.
Use MP4 Video... only when ffmpeg is available on PATH. If it is not available, the action is disabled and the tooltip directs you to image sequence export.
Flowfield export menus and transient sequence dialog.
Expected result
PNG exports reflect the visible viewer state or full domain. Transient sequence export writes numbered frame PNGs plus flowfield_frame_sequence_metadata.txt. MP4 export renders temporary frames and encodes them with ffmpeg when available.
Common notes
Transient raw field CSV export is guarded in this build. Use transient PNG/frame-sequence export for displayed saved frames.
Flowfield export checks stale state before writing. Re-solve when inputs changed after the last solve.
Wall CSV requires a converged laminar viscous solve with wall outputs; otherwise the app reports that no wall outputs are available.
